Multi-Split and Split Air-Conditioning Systems
Split Air Conditioner: This type of air-conditioning unit is used to heat or provide cool air to a singular space, such as an office. The system consists of inner and outer units and offers a simple yet effective air-conditioning solution. Use it all year round to maximise comfort and optimise room temperatures.
The operation of these products is a result of their construction. A split air conditioner consists of one condensing unit connecting to one indoor unit. Hence the ability to heat and cool one space.
Multi-Split Air Conditioner: A multi-split air conditioner allows you to heat and cool multiple rooms. However, you cannot heat one space and cool another simultaneously. This system is a brilliant solution if you have several rooms that require on-demand heat and fresh air. For example, offices or factories with several floors or different working areas.
Unlike split air-conditioning, a multi-split air conditioner can have up to five multiple indoor units connected to one condensing unit. Indoor units can be wall-mounted, floor standing or ceiling-mounted. It all depends on the customer’s application and requirements.
VRV Air-Conditioning Systems
Computers and other technology are vital for the daily operations and productivity of pretty much every industry. Therefore for reliability, IT environments need to operate at the correct temperature and humidity. You need to maintain IT environments at the correct temperature of 20°C to 24°C, and humidity of 45% to 55% RH. The best way to achieve this is using Computer Room Air Conditioners (CRAC). CRAC units have heat exchangers which connect to a direct expansion refrigeration circuit or chilled water systems to remove the heat from the server racks.
There are several ways to situate CRAC units, making them an ideal solution for varying environment designs and sizes. Typically, we would install this system opposite the data centre’s hot aisle. In this instance, the fan forces cold air into the void under the floor. Then the cold air is released through perforations in the raised flooring and drawn through the server racks to maintain a constant temperature.
